Meet Olivia
Olivia K. Green is a Howard University alumna, and a current audio journalism graduate student at New York University. As an aspiring multimedia journalist, Olivia is passionate about narrative and documentary storytelling that centers marginalized communities and their nuanced experiences.
At Howard, she served as the first multimedia editor of The Hilltop, Howard University’s newspaper, where she produced an award winning weekly news podcasts called the HillTalks. Her previous experience includes internships with the 99 Percent Invisible podcast, the Dow Jones News Fund, Bay City News, and The Baltimore Sun where she was one the first HBCU interns in program history.
Most recently, Olivia has worked with The Council on Foreign Relation’s narrative show “Why It Matters” where she helped to produce explainer podcasts about complex geopolitical issues, like this episode on brain drain in West Africa , and another about global Hindu nationalism and Modi.
Currently, Olivia is a production intern at WNYC’s the Brian Lehrer show. Her most recent segment was for breast cancer awareness following new American Cancer Society research.
